Black-addiction

"Black is black", "black never goes out of style", "black is the key" they are all famous quotes in fashion , timeless and popular each season. Lately I've been very fond of black that's why I wanted to share a couple of ideas of how to wear and show it alongside with the running trends.
Just never forget that when you dont know what to wear in the morning the black is colour that goes well with almost anything.

Friends got style!

What a strange idea huh?
Yes, why not to give a break in all streetstyle looks across the world and for once in life show my friends as also great inspirations and examples of style? That is exactly what I'm presenting below through these pictures full of sense of style and attitude that could be part of any blog which I usually take as my inspiration. I've got to confess that it's a bit weird to look at them here on the blog, but in the end I think it was a nice surprise, maybe even a success!...
I'm already thinking about the next "targets"...
Hope you like it, and dont forget to become a fan on Looks&Tips Facebook fans page right there on the side box!

Stephane Rolland Show at V&A - London

Last week I've been in London attending a short course at London College of Fashion called "Essential Guide to the Fashion Business". It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life, almost a dream came true when I went to the that building which for those 3 days I could call: my school.
On the last day Friday 10th the tutor proposed the class to have the lecture at the Victoria & Albert Museum where we had the chance to see the show of the Parisian coutourier Stéphane Rolland that provided a unique opportunity to see his intricate and sensuous designs in the stunning surroundings of the V&A's Raphael Galleries.
Stéphane Rolland is renowned for his modern and original interpretation of couture and his passion for architecture, sculpture and photography is evident throughout his collections. Raised in Argentina, Paraguay and the French West Indies, Stéphane Rolland was hired by Balenciaga at the age of 20 to design menswear. Following ten years experience as designer at Jean-Louis Scherrer, Rolland launched his Haute Couture House in 2007. Since then he has built an impressive profile as a pioneering modern couturier and his clientele ranges from royalty to well-known figures in the worlds of film and music. An official member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Rolland is now working on a ready-to-wear range which will launch in 2011.
Here there's some pictures of the looks:

Fur, Fur, Fur!

The time for your fancy fur coats has finally arrived. It's freezing outside! Of course I'm not talking about real fur as nowadays this is not a problem anymore as most of the brands have already adopted synthetic fur for their collections.
On the below examples it's noticeable that most of coats are short cuts, just the same length a blazer would be. The price is much more affordable now as these coats are now very popular styles on any 2nd hand shop.

Looks&Tips New Logo

Looks&Tips just got a new logo! Since the last months that I was already looking for something more dialed with fashion and streetstyle that could give a better example of what I intend to show on the blog.
Being so I've arranger a little challenge inviting the reader to send me their suggestions for the new logo. I've received quite a few ones and I'm really thankful to everyone that has contributed.
The winner is this one on the top of the page and was designed by the well-known Portuguese Designer Diogo Miranda. The main idea was to gather the looks (from Diogo's last SS11 Show at Portugal Fashion) and the tips (based on the streetstyle)
